The Vintage Tower provides 59 units of affordable rental housing for "low and very low income" members of our community. The Church is the Sponsor for the project, having invested a large segment of its building fund to acquire the building from the City of San Jose. FCD also set up a tax credit partnership that then allowed the Vintage Tower to receive more than $2 million dollars to renovate and bring the building to full occupancy. The renovation project included window replacement on three sides to reduce heat and noise; installation of new fans, appliances, carpet; seismic improvements; exterior restoration of the art deco finishes, tile and paint; restoration of the hand painted lobby; and upgrading of elevators and other infrastructure. Our renovation even received an award of excellence for this beautiful building. Now FCD is gratified that the partners, lenders (including the City of San Jose Housing Dept.), and the management company for the Vintage Tower continue to work with us to provide high-quality, well-managed, and affordable housing for our neighbors.
